We are looking for grade 2/3/4 boys coaches for this upcoming year and any other individuals interested in assisted with any of the coaches looking to field teams.
2019-2020 Coaches
Grade 3/4 Coach Coach: Jaclyn Levac-Nichols
Rehabilitation Therapist at DMARehability, Bachelors of Education and Bachelors of Human Kinetics, University of Windsor Volunteering for the grade 2/3/4 team girls. Jaclyn played both at Assumption and for the Valiants travel programme and was fortunate to be coached by her father at both Assumption and Valiants.

Grade 5/6 Boy's Coaches: Motukal Said and Jack Christopher

He will be working with Jack with our grade five and six team. Motulal is a two time Canadian National Wrestling Champion to go along with his is provincial wrestling championship achieved at Laurentian University. He has experience as a SWOSSA basketball champion and a wrestling champion. He is a founder and the head coach of @4qtrhoops organization and served as a coach at Catholic Central for the wrestling team.
Welcome to coach Jack Christopher who is currently enrolled in the criminology programme (3rd year) at the University of Windsor. He formerly coached at Riverside Falcons and we welcome him on board as one of the two coaches for the grade five and six team at Core City Hoops. He is a graduate of Catholic Central where he was a member of the team that won 2 SWOSSA basketball championships and 2 WECSSAA football championships. Welcome first time coach Paige Johnston, as this years grade 5/6 girls team Head Coach. Paige is currently enrolled in her second year as a Masters student in Human Kinetics at the University of Windsor. This Summer Paige has had the opportunity working for Canada Basketball within their Coaching Education Department as their Summer Intern. Paige previously played two years of varsity basketball at Lambton College, where she was awarded "Rookie of the Year" and "Most Dedicated Athlete". During Summer 2018, Paige held the position of Recreation Director for Core City Hoops running our Summer Camps. Paige has previous experience coaching the grade 7/8 girls team at Dresden Area Central School. Paige is very excited to take on this role with Core City Hoops as she has shared her committed to developing all athletes skills while encouraging her team to have fun! Grade 5/6 Girls Coaches: Ally Sanderson
Welcome Ally Sanderson to the coaching team, she will assisting with the 5/6 Core City Hoops Team. Ally is going into her third year of Concurrent Education at the University of Windsor. She started her passion for basketball around grade four when she started playing house league for her local team. After that year Ally fell in love with playing the sport and the atmosphere of it. Since then Ally has played 9 years with the Wallaceburg Airhawks and spent her high school years playing with the Lambton-Kent Cardinals. Throughout these years of playing she has learned many skills and knowledge about the game and how it works. With previous coaching experience at Dresden Area Public School with the senior team, Ally has developed various coaching techniques and skills to help each individual during the sport. Ally is very excited to continue her coaching experience by working with this team and looking forward to getting to know each athlete! Grade 7/8 Coach-- Head Coach Paul Levac
Still hanging around and working with the grade 7 and 8 boys team is Paul Levac. Also acting as President of Core City Hoops. Coaching experience in basketball for the past 48 years from elementary to secondary. Had the honour to coach with a variety of other individuals as well as coaching numerous very talented young ladies and men for almost 50 years. Frightening. Coached from the role of assistant coach for the grade 3 girls team last year to AAU championship women's teams and a number of Ontario Championships. Also had a number of O.F.S.S.A. experiences at Assumption and Catholic Central. Last year assisted two of my former point guards from Assumption at Kennedy to the S.W.O.S.S.A. junior championship. Grade 7/8 Coach Assistant Coach-Chris Tate
Meet Chris Tate who is a father of three daughters. He is the owner and operator of Feel God Now private membership club. Coach Tate has been a strength and conditioning specialist since 2013. He coached at Catholic Central in 2013 and 2014 at the Senior Boys level and at St. Clair College in 2017. He has just completed coaching at Massey with the Junior Girls programme where they went undefeated season in capturing the S.W.O.S.S.A. championship and has worked with a variety of youth at Core City Hoops on their skill sets throughout this past year. Grade 7/8 Coach Assistant Coach--Dimitri Shinas
Welcome to Coach Dimitri Shinas who is a fourth year physics student at the University of Windsor. Dimitri is also an Undergraduate Researcher with the Institute of Diagnostic Imaging Research. He has been on the honour roll in all 3 years of his studies at the University. Dimitri has competed at a high level in baseball and basketball since he was 10 years old.
